Centre Street Bridge, Calgary


Centre St Bridge which crosses the Bow River in Calgary was constructed in 1916, replacing the MacArthur Bridge on the same site which was destroyed by a flood in 1915.

Centre Street Bridge was designed by John F. Green, has two decks. The upper deck, a reinforced concrete arch structure, has a span of 178 metres and a width of 15 metres. The lower deck, a steel girder structure, has a span of 150 metres and ia width of 5.5 metres.
